The three city-states of Germany – Hamburg, Bremen and Berlin – continue to top the statistics for burglaries (2017). In particular, the theft of electronic items such as smartphones, laptops, tablets and similar devices is increasing, as these items are relatively easy to transport with little effort. Even in companies, electronic devices are often the target of burglars – sometimes not because of their material value, but due to the information stored on them.
The detectives of the Kurtz Corporate Detective Agency Hamburg secure traces and investigate the perpetrators using a wide range of possible (including unconventional) investigative methods: +49 40 2320 5053.
Identifying the perpetrator of a single burglary and the associated property damage is not always possible if no preventive measures such as video surveillance were taken beforehand. However, in the case of repeated incidents, for example sabotage by competitors, surveillance of the affected premises is advisable to catch offenders in the act, document the offences in a legally admissible manner and hand the perpetrators over to the police.
Small shops are affected by burglaries just as much as department stores on shopping streets or large manufacturing companies in industrial areas. For each of these businesses, the investigators of the Kurtz Corporate Detective Agency Hamburg are the right contact for burglary prevention and offender investigation. Hamburg police had been investigating a company burglary since late 2013, in which the perpetrators intended to steal electronic items worth several thousand euros. The investigation led to four suspects of Bosnian origin (aged 33, 37, 43, 48), who had previous criminal records. The group is suspected of committing at least five burglaries at opticians and jewellers, as well as further offences against private individuals. The total damage amounted to six figures.
The suspects primarily targeted shops in shopping centres (including Alstertal, Bergedorf, Harburg) and either forced open the entrance doors, prised walls, locked themselves in, or bypassed the existing security locks. Once the suspicions against the group were confirmed, the Hamburg public prosecutor’s office obtained arrest warrants for the four suspects and search warrants from the local court, which have now been executed. Significant evidence was secured, including burglary tools, parts of the stolen goods, data carriers and vehicles.
Aside from burglary, companies are often affected by sabotage and property damage, whether the perpetrator is a competing company or a disgruntled former employee. The spectrum ranges from deliberately broken windows to sabotage of production equipment, as well as vandalism without company-related motives.
To prevent burglaries, industrial espionage, property damage and sabotage against your company, a security analysis of your headquarters, offices and, if applicable, production facilities should be carried out by the Kurtz Detective Agency Hamburg. We examine the risk potential, existing countermeasures and weaknesses in detail by identifying possible sources of danger. Based on the collected facts, we create various scenarios and recalculate the balance of risk and benefit for newly installed security technology or modifications to the existing structure.
At the conclusion of our security analysis, we provide you with, in addition to the obligatory report, a recommendation for the desirable additional security measures.
